The Fate of the Furious is back in the business of dominating the box office. The film topped the worldwide and domestic box office for the weekend of April 23, raking in over $1 billion.

"Universal's 'The Fate of the Furious' continues to race at a furious box office pace around the world with a massive global total to date of $908.4 million," according to comScore's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

"It is the number one film in the world for the second week in a row and impressively the worldwide total will cross $1 Billion this week."

The monumental film is yet another successful knot in the belt of the franchise that has been carrying the torch with pride after the untimely death of one of its founding stars Paul Walker.
