As the voice of Hank from Finding Dory, Ed O'Neill was one of the visitors who helped The Ellen Show kick off Finding Dory week.

During his visit, O'Neill talked about working on the film and his run-in with Britney Spears.

DeGeneres told her fans that O'Neill is very funny in the film and she could not wait for them to see him. The two have a lot of scenes together and O'Neill described his character Hank as a disgruntled septa-pus.

He did not know he was going to play a septa-pus and said he got a call from his manager asking him if he wanted to work on Finding Dory.

O'Neill had to ask what Finding Dory was before agreeing to do it. However, when he asked for a script of some sort, he was surprised when he was told that there wasn't one at the time.

There was nothing to see and O'Neill agreed because it was Pixar. O'Neill thought it was a cameo but he kept being called back and realized it was kind of a big part.

DeGeneres started the project three years ago and O'Neill started about two years ago. DeGeneres said when she heard the cast, she had to do it.

Following the Finding Dory talk, O'Neill explained a photo of him and Britney Spears.

He was waiting for a flight at LAX when he was approached by Spears. He had no idea who she was until his manager called him and asked him what was going on.

O'Neill did call Spears and apologize after his daughter called him a moron. It's safe to say he totally made up for it.

Later on the show O'Neill also played a game of Dunkin' Dory where he and DeGeneres helped a fan win tickets for Finding Dory. You can check out O'Neill's visit to The Ellen Show in the video below.
