Early Box Office Weekend Prediction For Spider-Man: Homecoming Made

It goes without saying that The Amazing Spider-Man films did not set the Box Office on fire compared to the previous films starring Tobey Maguire. Well things might be looking up again thanks to Marvel's involvement with Spider-Man: Homecoming.

It's too early for tracking data to be monitored, although BoxOffice.com have put out in an early forecast for Spider-Man: Homecoming's Box Office opening weekend. According to the website, the movie has the potential to earn over $135 million in its opening weekend in North America. The website also predicts the total North American take for the film could be over $325 million.

This is up from the $91.6 million that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 received in its opening weekend back in 2014. The total North American take for that film was $202.9 million. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 remains to be the lowest grossing Spider-Man film of all time. It was seen as a disappointment considering the Spider-Man character is still very popular. The character still sells a lot of merchandise compared to lots of other comic book heroes.

There are many reasons that Homecoming could be a success. This is thanks to the character being introduced to the MCU as Robert Downey Jr. is in the film as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Not to mention the character was well received in last year's Captain America: Civil War.

The only barriers to its success is that it's another Spider-Man reboot. He's been rebooted three times already in the span of 15 years. In comparison, Hugh Jackman played the role of Wolverine longer than that as he stayed with the character for a healthy 17 years. Another barrier is due to the film's marketing. The marketing has been good overall, although the second trailer showed a plot summary that spoiled several parts of the movie already...
