Drake and Rihanna Rule The American Music Awards Nominations

Not only can Drake and Rihanna combine their talents for chart topping music, the two are also leading the charge when it comes to American Music Award nominations.

Drake now has a whopping 13 nominations for the 2016 AMA's and those nominations has earned him legendary status. According to Billboard, Drake's 13 nominations is a recording-breaking feat that eclipses Michael Jackson's 11 nomination record.

"The 'Hotline Bling' rapper leads all 2016 American Music Awards nominees with nods in categories including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite R&B song, among others," according to the report.

"If he wins in any of the categories it will make his first AMA win."

Meanwhile, his "Work" partner, Rihanna, is standing strong with seven nominations of her own.

In a year where Drake and Rihanna ruled the headlines, they continue to rule the charts and music world as well. You can see if both Rihanna and Drake set the record with wins on November 20.
