Force Friday II is close as September 1st, 2017 marks the day that all of the new The Last Jedi merchandise will be available for you to buy.

Disney and Lucasfilm announced today a new augmented reality experience to make your day more enjoyable.

The promotion is being called "Find the Force" and it serves as an augmented reality treasure hunt. From September 1st until September 3rd at 20,000 participating retailers around the world, fans can use their phones to find characters from the movies.

There are 15 characters for you to try and hunt during the three day period.

In order to find the characters, you need to have downloaded the latest version of the Star Wars app.

When you see a character on the phone, you are encouraged to take a photo and then share it onto social media the hashtags of #FindtheForce and #Sweepstakes.

To encourage people to try this out, there is a competition being placed. If you manage to find all of the characters, you have a chance to win the ultimate fan experience.

This experience is a chance to watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere this December. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to watch the new movie before everyone else in the world.

You can view the participating retailers by clicking here. Sadly, not every country is included here as New Zealand is missing.

Still, it should be fun if you live in a country that is participating in this unique promotion.

You can see more of the augmented reality experience in the video posted down below. The Star Wars app is available now on iOS and Android.
