When Wonder Woman came out back in June 2017, critics and fans all over the world praised the film, Likewise, The Disaster Artist had a lot of buzz as people thought James Franco did an excellent job portraying Tommy Wiseau.

Another popular blockbuster that did not get nominated in any of the major categories was Logan. Hugh Jackman was not recognized for his last performance as Wolverine either.

Well the 2018 Academy Award nominations have been announced today and the three aforementioned movies and many other popular blockbusters have been ignored yet again. The usual real life movie dramas dominate each category.

While Wonder Woman got snubbed entirely, Logan and The Disaster Artist at least got one nomination in the same category for "Best Adapted Screenplay" and that's it.

Hugh Jackman and James Franco could have sneaked into the "Best Actor" category as I loved both of their performances.

Wonder Woman sadly did not get nominated at all as people wanted Gal Gadot to at least get a "Best Actress" nod. However that category was instead dominated by other actresses starring in dramas.

The most famous films nominated in the major categories included Christopher Nolan's 'Dunkirk' and Jordan Peele's 'Get Out'. Both films were nominated in the "Best Movie" and "Best Director" categories.

The mainstream blockbuster that got the most nominations was Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It was nominated for "Best Visuals", "Best Sound Editing", "Best Sound Mixing" and "Best Original Score".
