The CW's "Legends of Tomorrow" are launched into Japan when unexpected powers become active. Of course they find themselves in the middle of trouble in "Shogun" the second season's third episode.

Nate and Ray are thrown into Feudal Japan when Nate discovers he has powers. Sara, Amaya, and Rory set out to find them and end up agreeing to help Nate learn his powers in order to defend a village from the Shogun and his army.

Jax and Stain opt out of this particular mission to work on repairing the ship. They end up finding a secret compartment and decide to hide what they learn from everyone else.

Nate is recovering nicely and there has yet to be any side effects from using the Nazi serum. Vixen, misguided by Rex's last words, launches an attack on the crew. Nate stops her by turning his skin into steel.

Sara puts Ray in charge of helping him figure out how to control his powers. She, herself, goes to speak with Amaya. They come to an understanding and the Legends now have a new crew member.

Ray believes the best course of action is to attack Nate to trigger his powers. Successful, they start play fighting. Nate hits Ray too hard causing the cargo bay door to open. Nate flies out and Ray chooses to follow after him. The team won't be able to track them down right away because the ship is damaged.

Nate lands in mid 17th century Japan. He promptly passes out. Surprised he's still alive, Ray wakes up to find himself surrounded by samurais.

Nate wakes up on the back of a young lady's wagon. Misako brought him back to her home in order to protect him from the shogun. Ray is delivered to the Shogun.

Oh no, Misako's about to enter an arranged marriage to the Shogun. As she is less than thrilled about it, Nate now thinks he's going to have to help her out. Amaya is less than pleased that Sara has chosen to take Rory with them on the rescue mission. Gideon reveals that there is another compartment that Hunter never shared with Jax when he was teaching him about the ship.

Stein is immediately intrigued and persuades Jax to put off fixing the time drive to go check it out. The Shogun's people come to make sure that there are no more strangers in the vicinity.

Nate steps in but he can't trigger his powers. The samurai stabs him in the stomach.

While no important organs were damaged by the sword the blood loss is still a problem. Sara, Rory, and Amaya close in on Ray's position. Jax and Stein find a hidden door. Jax is worried that Hunter might have been keeping something dangerous inside. The trio find Ray...rather they find Ray's suit with the Shogun inside. Ray is changed in a cell.

He's able to escape it. Sara gets overpowered by one of the guards. Amaya steps in and they're forced to retreat.

They run into Ray on the way out.The serum healed Nate hemophiliac. Just as Nate's about to put the moves on Misako, the team barges in.

Nate refuses to leave without defeating the Shogun and altering Japanese history but whatever. Sara relents, she orders Ray to continue training Nate while she and Amaya figure out how to protect the village. Stein and Jax find a message from the Barry Allen of 2056.

Ray's only solution is to have Nate destroy his suit. Sara and Amaya guide the citizens to a safe location.

A sulking Ray gets some advice from Misako's father to help him feel better about his suit. Nate and Misako are taking a long stroll through a path in the woods when they hear the Shogun arrive.

Ray takes on the Shogun himself after Nate still isn't able to access his powers right away. Sara and Amaya guard the people of the village. They're backed into a corner when Rory appears dressed as a ninja. Misako takes her own stand against the Shogun when Ray is knocked down. Nate comes to her rescue covered in steel. Sara defeats the first in command. Nate deals the damaging blow to the suit.

It explodes, taking the Shogun with it. Now that she's single, Nate gets his kiss. He leaves her with the Shogun's sword so that she can protect her village.

The crew returns to the ship. Amaya sees Rory in order to apologize for her judgement on him. She gives him a throwing star. Stein and Jax are determined to keep the message from Barry a secret.

"Shogun" was an interesting episode of "Legends of Tomorrow." Nice to see that Nate is no longer a liability.

He'll be happy not to be forced to stay on the ship. Keep watching the Legends blunder their way through time Thursdays at 8pm or later on the CW site.
