'Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes' Tops Worldwide Box Office, 'Guardians of The Galaxy' At No. 2

The official worldwide weekend box office estimates for the weekend of Aug. 31, 2014, have been release with "Dawn of The Planet of The Apes" sitting at number one overall and "Guardians of The Galaxy" continuing their domestic success.

Rentrak's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, "Fox's 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' continues its domination of 29 international territories leading the charge with an impressive $51.2 million and thus bringing its global total to over $600 million.

On the superhero side of things, the late summer hit 'Guardians of the Galaxy' adds another $19.7 million in 68 international markets and now boasts a worldwide nearing $550 million."
