It's becoming harder for parents to explain certain aspects of the world especially when it comes to sexual orientation, race and other big issues.

One father makes an amazing promise to his sons after one of them chose to return their toy for an Ariel doll.

While browsing YouTube we came across one of a dad who reacted in a model manner after his son chose to buy an Ariel doll at the toy store.

"Many are asking me, 'how did you feel the moment Azai chose that doll?'," said Mikki Willis in his caption of the YouTube video.

"The honest answer is, it didn't surprise me at all. Azai is equally fascinated by princesses and robots.

One moment he's all boy, the next he's expressing a softer, more angelic side. For me this behavior rings more authentic than playing one note all the time."

Willis wanted to express the importance of choice, image and acceptance early on in his child's life and while he admits there was a brief moment where he had to really think about it, he decided against what might be a stereotypical reaction from a father.

"When I saw the collection it was part of, and didn't see much in the way of variety of skin colors or body types, I had to resist my urge to say, 'Why don't we chose a more realistic doll,'" said Willis.

"I don't want my boys to adapt to the programming that a women should be built like a Barbie.

I said, "Let's look at all the dolls in the store first, then you can decide." He was clear, "I want this mermaid." I backed off knowing this would be the catalyst for us to have a powerful conversation about the beauty of body-types and racial equality."

That's exactly what he did in the video below posted to his official YouTube Channel.

He cheered his son on and promised his boys that he will forever love them and accept them no matter what life they choose. Check out the awesome video below.
