A few days ago, the internet was raging because a new trailer for a Crocodile Dundee movie was posted online. It featured Danny McBride in the main role starring as the son of Paul Hogan's character in the original movies.

As reported by the Brisbane Times, the trailer might not be real because it is actually a viral video marketing stunt made by Tourism Australia.

Tourism Australia is airing the trailer during the Super Bowl to attract more American visitors to fly down under.

Chris Hemsworth was revealed to be helping the stunt as he serves as an ambassador for Tourism Australia. Hemsworth is well known to American audiences now thanks to him playing Marvel's Thor character multiple times.

The fake movie was supposed to follow Brian Dundee who is the American son of the original Crocodile Dundee played by Paul Hogan.

The "plot" was to see the son rescuing his missing father who got lost somewhere in the Australian Outback.

Tourism Australia has yet to comment if this is all a hoax or not, but all signs put to this just being a marketing stunt.

After all, the trailer for the supposed "movie" received a lot of hate when it was posted on YouTube.

Sequels to comedies that released in the '80s and '90s usually aren't well received.

Dumb and Dumber To was a flop and angered fans of the 1994 original. The 2016 Ghostbusters reboot was also hated by many fans of the originals movies released in the '80s.

Anyway, you can look at the viral video for the "trailer" down below. It will be interesting to see if they go through with it and actually release a film if fans demand it.
