The electronic duo, The Chainsmokers, made up with the talent of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, is on their way to the top of the electronic music industry.

The two have success on their minds and are succeeding on their path to achievement.

Erupting from New York City, the two DJ's signed with record label 4AM in 2012. The dynamic duo has performed with big names around the world including Avicii, Steve Aoki, DJ AM, Calvin Harris and Pete Tong.

The Chainsmokers have been spending their time getting their music out to the public and strengthening their fan base by playing at a number of festivals and events around the country.

After recently seeing the duo's set at TomorrowWorld, I reached out for an interview with Alex and Drew. Get to know The Chainsmokers here at Empty Lighthouse.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: How did you get your start in music?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: It was old Mr. Willis, who lives down by Mill on Church Street.

He used to let us come over and play with his piano and guitars when his wife was away.

See his wife d to be away though because she had a fear of other people. It was terribly tough because we always wanted to come over.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: What was your influence to get into electronic music?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: Deadmau5, Cut Copy and Digitalism to name a few.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: How did you come up with the name "The Chainsmokers"?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: In Japanese, it means guys who smoke after the next guy, and since we don't smoke, and it made absolutely no sense, we thought it would be sick.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: Who do you consider your musical influences?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: TJR, Deadmau5, Kaskade, Pete Tong and Nancy Kerigan.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: What about during spare time, who do you spend time listening to?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: CHVRCHES, Snake, Avicii, Drake, ASTR, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: What has been your most memorable touring experience or memory?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: Throwing up on the flight from Dallas back to NYC for 6 hours. I will never forget how much that sucked.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be and why?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: DJ Snake, that dude has the golden touch right now.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: If you were stranded on an island, what 3 things would you want with you?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: Kate Upton, Megan Fox and Olivia Wilde.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: What are your upcoming plans in regards to touring, recording and releases?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: We have releases with NONONO, Mikky Ekko and Icona Pop coming up, along with some really great, original material. We would elaborate but we would rather wait.

Today it's all about marketing and promotion, you got to roll things out the right way. As for touring, hopefully the sky is the limit!
