Alot can be said about hip hop these days. I think the most important thing is that hip-hop and pop music have really intertwined more than any other other genre.

So the line between hip-hop and pop may not really matter anymore, but every once and a while you hear a special talent. Izza Kizza, real name Terry Davis, is an artist signed to Timbaland's Mosley Music Group.

His debut album 'Kizzaland' which was released in 2008 has become somewhat of an icon and his work on the mic is rivaled only by his work on the board.

Izza Kizza is a rare mix of talent and we couldn't help but ask him a few questions:

Your first album Kizzaland was well received, did it live up to your expectations?

I Love Kizzaland ,as Far as First albums Go,i do believe it Made its Mark..People tell me all the time about how they still listen to it every Day which is what any artist wants from their Material.

It has a natural sound that Can Never be duplicated.i was in such a remarkable and innocent place musically and creatively and had such an honest Hunger and a sense of doing what i liked and Not caring what anyone else Thought and i think that what my fans Loved about it the Most and they understood it ! it unknowingly exceeded my expectations! it wasnt about the Money,it wasnt about the fame,it was just me in the studio, with the Microphone, and Creative freedom .For Anyone who hasnt heard it yet..its out there...Find it and Listen to it...and it will easily become one of your All time favorites

What's it like to work with Timbaland?

It was a Dream Come true to Work with Timbaland..i had my First meeting With Timbaland at Jay-Zs "Roc the Mic Studio" in NYC ,it was A moment that i Embraced, Along with Meeting Justin
TimberLake, Ri-Ri, Jay Brown and a few Others in that Camp ..it was such a Memorable Moment, because i was Getting Slaughtered in a Pool Game before Tim Came in.

i Had 6 Balls on the Table!! And as soon As Tim Walked in,Andrew..the guy that was whooping me,LOL, Said ."Yo Tim..your new Artist is Already in the Red cuz im Whooping his A** over here"..LOL...And everyone just burst out Laughing..so this beautiful Girl Walked over and Introduced herself and shook my hand...She Said "Im *****"
i wasnt paying attention to her Name and Face because i was so in Shock that Tim came in..so after our meeting and the Legendary Timbaland told me the he was Feelin my style, Which was Dope, We left...got in the car..and the guys i was with was like "Yo Rihanna was Looking Good AF..and im all like ...What??? Rihanna was There ? they were like "yo..what you mean she walked right up to you!"..SMH..Like ah man i Prolly couldve Bagged her...Jk ..Kinda....but yea..Tim is Dope in Every Sense of the Word. And the pleasure was definitely All mine to Even be Able to Say..."Yea i got records With Timbaland"

Describe an average day for you

Well my days Are Crazy because Lately ive Been Working With Another Great Person Who is a constant Inspiration in My Life by the Name of Missy Elliott...And ive Actually been Staying out at her Place working on Some Projects including her own Project and her Artist "Sharaya J" (@Sharaya_J) *on Twitter* she is Buzzin Crazy right now.

So my Average Day would be..Waking up Early- then Running 4-6 Miles ..Eating Lunch ..and Then we would be In the Studio For the Rest of the Day.So..work out ...then Studio..on a daily Basis.

What's wrong with hip hop these days?

My Problem with Hip-Hop these days is its Missing the Soul, thats actually a Topic that we always Discuss and try to Figure out where we went Wrong. And not Just Hip-Hop..R&B As Well..and One Problem in my opinion is that it seems like Rappers wanna be Singers, And Singers Wanna be Rappers, for one and 2, theres not enough Rappers that are Icons that have Voices and the power to speak so that people will listen, Theyre not Addressing many issues that need to be Addressed..i do understand that sometimes Change is inevitable..but i always have to compare todays Content with the Content or Rappers in the 90,s ...Thinkin of 2Pac, Biggie,KRS-1, Snoop Dogg,Mjg & *Ball,Public Enemy,Ghetto Boys,Nas,Q-tip and dem,OutKast, even Pharcyde, Arrested Developement, and sooo many more when a Album came out in the 90s..it was an Event..and all the Music had Meaning and its Own Sound..it just had a certain feelin in it that for some reason Nowadays i cant Find in Todays Music...sometimes i cant Even tell Whos Who..but No rapper ever sounded like 2Pac..or Biggie...and back in the day if they even tried to Bite someones style...they got Called out.

somethings not right ..I Just Cant put my finger on it..But i salute anyone out the Whos trying to put food on the Table
as far as Working Goes, You never know what people are going through! P.s...I see every One Wants to Be Rappers and All..but what Happened to Dope Djs? A rapper cant Rap without a DJ...We Need More Dope DJs..Please!! im Working on a New Dj League with Missy..so any dope Djs..get at me!..

That is All

Who are you admiring right now in the rap game?

I can say this...and im sure everyone feels the Same..im rockin with K.Dot Right Now...i Like Sharaya J she has a Dope sound and shes Different.

I like What Ems Doing....i think Hopsin and Tech9 do Dopppe Collabos..and Some other underground Artists..its Still Dope Music out there..but in my Opinion..all the Authentic Music is Barely Mainstream...i Still be Digging in the Crates pullin out my 90s music tho when i wanna Catch a Good Vibe.

What do you prefer, the mic or the board?

I Like a Mixture of Both because im A Producer as Well...i spend as much time Mixing and Editing as i Do Writing and
Recording...Almost every song on Every One of my Projects i recorded Myself.

Ive been engineering for a while Tho...i
remember recording an Entire Mixtape for Joe Buddens , just me and Him in the Studio Vibin.....and i still have The sessions..LOL..and ive Actually Edited Audio books for Amazon...I just learned to Evolve and Be more Than an Mc When i
need too.i have several Hats,If you will,But i Love Making Music Period..Nothing will Ever take the Place of that!

Can we expect another album soon?

I have Album after Album in the stash..i will be releasing something in the Near Future,I did do an Album Called "Designated Driver" its Dope and Reflective and i have Another album Called RayBans..its different, Dirty and rowdy..but ive became really picky when it Comes to releasing records into the Wild..i release new exclusiv cuts to My soundCloud.com/Izzakizza and Soundcloud.com/izzakizzaMusic for those of you who are in Need of a Izza Kizza Fix.but i will take another Look in Terms of "My Album" when im Done With Missy and Sharaya j's Projects....and ive Have my hands Tied With My Licensing Company that ive have been tying up some Loose ends with, This company is More Suited for Local Artists who Want A shot a having their Music Placed on Tv shows , Movies, And Video Games i just got that Started...if anyone Needs Any Further Details on that ,Feel Free to Contact my Team HollyHoodJetsettersMusic@yahoo.com ..Dont Forget to Follow me on Twitter and Instagram.
