Lakis and Aris Ionas are the two talented musicians who formed to create the noisepop and art collective band named The Callas.

Throughout the past few years of their musical career, the two have mixed different types of disciplines together, including music, art, performance and film.

The Callas recorded a new album this year with Jim Sclavunos, who also helped in the recording and producing of works from acts including Sonic Youth, The Cramps, Grinderman and Lydia Lunch.

Their album, Am I Vertical, was released late last month and has gained tons of positive praise and support by many in the music industry.

The unique and eclectic duo have spent their time performing at a number of music festivals and huge venues, including The Great Escape Festival, Indietracks Festival, Reeperbahn Festival and Taktfrei Festival.

Their plan for 2014 is to continue to promote their latest release, and begin hopping around festivals once again come summer.

"An amazing performance by The Callas that was a cross between rock and Andy Warhol's factory scene", The Independent, based in the UK, described the duo's recent release of Am I Vertical.

Other music critics have described the release as "one of the albums of the year" and "no arguing with their ear for a punk pop hook".

Am I Vertical can be found on iTunes and Inner Ear - be sure to take a listen and check The Callas out at a festival this summer!
