Nearly four years ago, Colt Cabana and CM Punk staged a podcast where the latter described how he got fired from the WWE. Punk described how he was not treated well by the WWE's doctor Chris Amann.

Chris Amann did not like what he was hearing in the podcast and sued both CM Punk and Colt Cabana for defamation. He wanted to seek close to $ 4 million due to damages on his career.

The court case finally came to a close today and the jury reached its verdict. Wrestlezone's Nick Hausman reported on the verdict and posted the following on his Twitter account.

"The jury finds in favor of CM Punk (Philip Jack Brooks) and Colt Cabana (Scott Colton) on all counts filed by Dr. Chris Amann. Neither will have to pay anything."

CM Punk and his wife AJ Lee celebrated while they embraced Colt Cabana too. Sure CM Punk is rich, but this case could have caused a lot of financial damage to Colt Cabana who is still an independent wrestler.

The thing that caused Chris Amann to lose is the fact that his career as a doctor did not affect his status in WWE in any way.

Despite CM Punk criticizing his work on the podcast, WWE never punished Amann so he did not get demoted or saw a decrease in his salary.

The only thing that "damaged" Amann was his own feelings as he would receive unflattering comments from fans on Twitter.

The jury felt this wasn't big enough to sue for a defamation case which is why Punk and Cabana won out at the end.

This is good news for Punk because he can put this thing to rest. Now Punk has to wait for this weekend to try and win his second ever MMA fight in UFC against Mike Jackson.
