CM Punk Admits He's Not Main Event Worthy For A UFC PPV

Usually when MMA fighters are on a UFC PPV card, the top matches are headlined by fighters with good records.

Despite this, CM Punk is part of one of the main event matches at UFC 225 in June even though he's an amateur MMA fighter.

Many hardcore MMA fans are outraged a guy like CM Punk has got a good spot on the UFC 225 card since he's only lost one fight in his short MMA career.

CM Punk himself has responded to the criticism in a new Twitter post he tweeted down below.

"I understand too. If it was up to me, I'd be first fight on fight pass. Don't matter to me. Fans like to be outraged by stuff that doesn't matter. (Appreciate the support Mr. Coleman!!!!! You're truly the man)."

It sounds like CM Punk would rather fight in the undercard, but UFC President Dan White keeps him on PPV. This is because CM Punk is a famous name that got popular when he was a WWE wrestler several years ago.

CM Punk also gets a lot of money being in the UFC too.

He lost his first fight in the UFC back in 2016, but he was still paid handsomely earning a cool $500,000. It's likely his upcoming fight against Mike Jackson at UFC 225 he will be paid a similar rate.

Anyway, UFC 225 happens on June 9th, 2018.

The actual main event of the card is headlined by Robert Whittaker vs Yoel Romero. It will be interesting to see how CM Punk does in the fight since his first fight only lasted less than two minutes long...
