Usually movies are announced many months in advance to allow people to know that they exist. For example, Warner Bros released first footage from Justice League nearly 18 months before its release date.

Well Netflix is unlike any other company because their marketing team loves to think outside of the box. The third Cloverfield movie called "The Cloverfield Paradox" is to be released on Netflix tonight after the Super Bowl ends.
