The DJ duo has taken the world by storm with the spread of their hit single "#SELFIE", but it wasn't always life in the fast lane for The Chainsmokers.

Made up of the talent of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, the duo has already made it to the top of the electronic music and dance charts since we last spoke with them back in September at TomorrowWorld.

When success is all you have on your mind, there's no way we doubted them on their path to achievement.

From New York City, The Chainsmokers signed with record label 4Am back in 2012, but first got their start at younger ages. Alex started DJing at different venues and it was after a trip to the UK, that he really got into the whole electronic music scene.

For Drew, Deadmau5's "Faxing Berlin" is what inspired him to jump into EDM. The duo has performed with big names around the world including Avicii, Steve Aoki, DJ AM, Calvin Harris and Pete Tong.

After recently spending some good time in Miami during Miami Music Week, No Sugar Added Festival and Ultra Music Festival, I had the opportunity to catch up with The Chainsmokers and touch base with the two witty and hilarious dudes on what has been going on in the past few months since last speaking at TomorrowWorld.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: You two have been on the road for a while now for your #SELFIE tour.

What has been your most memorable experience while touring?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: Just playing shows that are packed or sold out, it's so surreal. That will never get old.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: Bienvenidos a Miami! What has been your favorite part of Miami Music Week, Ultra Music Festival and No Sugar Added Festival?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: Getting to open mainstage at Ultra on Friday. That trumps most of our life experiences.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: Did you get to see anyone's set this weekend? If so, who blew you away or surprised you the most?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: Sadly we didn't get to see many people's sets, but we caught Adventure Club at Ultra who crushed it.

Also Tchami had a great set at No Sugar Added Festival, and Steve Aoki at his own party.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: You guys have become huge in the past few months - what is your best piece of advice for those looking to get their foot in the door in the music industry?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: Work your ass off, become as good as your possibly can at wheat you do and surround yourself with people who are honest with you but are positive and believe in you. There is no formular for success.

All you can do is position yourself the best you can and do things you believe in. The music business and the entertainment business are two very different things.

EMPTY LIGHTHOUSE: What are your upcoming plans in regards to new releases, touring, etc?
THE CHAINSMOKERS: World domination, what else? Stay tuned!
