Captain Phasma looked really cool in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, although she didn't have much of a big part.

All she did was walk around and bark some orders. Well that is about to change with Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Captain Phasma will be doing some action in the next movie.

She won't be just standing around doing nothing like in the previous movie. You can read Johnson's comments down below.

Gwendoline Christie is one of my favorite people, and you get to see her in action which I think is going to be really fun. That character is just so damn cool looking. Like, okay, let's see what we can do with her. Let's put her in action and see what happens.

Phasma's backstory will be further explored in two books. A new novel called Phasma by Delilah S. Dawson tells us how she joined The First Order in the first place. After that, a Marvel comic book called 'Captain Phasma' will show us how she escaped that trash compactor to set up the events that lead up to The Last Jedi.

It's highly speculated the next movie will show us a showdown between Finn and Phasma. This is something fans were hoping in the last movie, but it never happened.

Now we should get some action and possibly a conclusion between the two characters. It still remains to be seen if Phasma will survive/make it into Star Wars: Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases in North America on December 15th, 2017. The movie is part 2 of a new trilogy. As aforementioned, the film is directed and written by Rian Johnson.
