Gwendoline Christie plays Captain Phasma in the new Star Wars films and she is praising the script for Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi.

It sounds like the cast were able to share some ideas to Johnson and the script this time goes deeper with the characters.

Christie talked more about the script for Star Wars: The Last Jedi during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

She says that the script delves into the relationship between the characters and more. You can read more from her comments posted down below.

When I met him (Rian Johnson), these are huge things to me and things I never thought would happen in my career, so when Rian invited me to read the script, have my thoughts and then to come and discuss it with him -- as he did all of the cast members -- I was really thrilled to have an opportunity of a forum where I could put my ideas forward and have some back and forth about where we felt things were and where we felt they can go. What I can tell you about the next Star Wars film is I think Rian does an exceptional job of going deeper, of going further, and really exploring what these relationships are

Captain Phasma looked really cool in The Force Awakens, but sadly she didn't have a big or meaningful part.

It sounds like The Last Jedi will give the character more screen time this time around. Hopefully she is able to fight Finn who defected from The First Order to the Resistance in the previous film.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases in North America on December 15th, 2017. The trilogy is set to conclude with Star Wars: Episode IX opening on May 24th, 2019. After that, we might see more standalone spin-off films instead.
