Getting right into Brooke Shields wasted no time in defending her mother by stating that the "the highs were pretty high, and the lows were pretty low," as she appeared on "The View."

She also spoke about people criticizing her mom for over sexualizing her at a young age. She says that her problem with her mother was her lack of foresight in terms of a career path.

Rosie O'Donnell asked about her mother's self medication and Shields responded by saying she didn't think her mother had that type of self confidence. She spoke about her mom not being able to handle being a stage mom.

Rosie Perez brought up the fact that after she lost her virginity to Dean Cain she lost her emotional separation from her mother.

Shields also caught O'Donnell off-guard when she responded "wait she died?" to O'Donnell's question which started now when she died...

Though the subject matter was very heavy last week Shields was able to get through the interview gracefully and also says that all will be explained in her book.

Though her relationship with Andre Agassi and her daughters was teased there didn't appear to be enough time for Shields to discuss every aspect of her book, however, she did touch heavily on her relationship with her mother and how much she missed her after her passing.
