Alex K. Gardner (a.k.a.
"Alex G.") is a Los Angeles based artist whose creates surreal and discomforting ink paintings. His works are highly symbolic, echoing the world of dreams; faceless characters, amputees, unearthly creatures, and water figure prominently, begging for interpretation.
The stark contrast of black and white makes the pieces even more unsettling and dream-like and evoke sumi-e or the Japanese ink painting tradition.
