The moment 14-year-old Al J realized that he would be receiving a new heart, his emotions and reaction was priceless. So, Ellen DeGeneres invited him to The Ellen Show to hear his incredible story of patience.
DeGeneres shared the video of Al J finding out that a heart had been found for him and he was going to live.
He was excited at first, then went into a state of shock and awe, followed by him repeatedly saying how nervous he was.
DeGeneres then welcomed Al J and his mom out to join her on stage as the audience cheered them on.
Al J has made a full recovery and said he feels like he can do anything he can now. He was born with a heart condition that doesn't allow the heart to pump blood to the organs it needs to.
His mother realized this at 4-months-old after taking him to the hospital.
He has been in the hospital for years and said it has been a tough road, however, he had to do it. Al J also maintained his grades while in the hospital.
His mother told DeGeneres that Al J gave her strength and they also met the family of the donor.
Al J understands that someone lost their life for him to have a chance to live so there was also a bit of sadness when they found out.
You can watch Al J tell his amazing story of survival on The Ellen Show in the video below.
