The CW has managed to give their fans two television shows driven by vampires, werewolves and witches.

While one of those shows "The Vampire Diaries," is nearing it's end "The Originals" has a bright, promising future after entertaining and shocking fans for just two seasons.

So, we compiled 10 things we think fans should know about the "TVD" successor.

1.

After the introduction of Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies, Julie Plec decided to make them brothers because of how "talented and gifted they were." Morgan was featured in the mainstream film "The Immortals" as Lysander while Gillies played John Jameson in "Spider-Man 2." In "The Originals: Origins" BluRay extras, Plec commended their acting ability and decided that there should also be more members to "The Originals" family.

2.

Joseph Morgan and Claire Holt began the campaign for the spin-off show without knowing that Plec was already thinking about it.

In the BluRay extras, Holt talks about sitting down for dinner with Morgan and thinking how cool it would be if there was a spin-off for the original family during the filming of "The Vampire Diaries." Little did they know, Plec was taking close notes to the "beautiful" character dynamics between Morgan and Gillies character.

3. Klaus is the pain in his siblings butts that they can't seem to rid themselves of. In an interview posted to the HappyCool YouTube channel, Daniel Gillies said that in order to complete his character he had to make Elijah's will to stand by his brother "his disease." The entire Mikaelson family is neurotic and they all drive each other mad.

However, despite staking each other with a dagger numerous times, they've never once fully destroyed one another.

Instead, in the past they've kept each other around. The element of a protective family, especially the brotherly bond between Klaus and Elijah, has been the backbone of their triumphs.

4. The curse that turning the original vampires into who they are today came from their own mother.

Esther cursed all of her children with the exception of Freya into becoming vampires.

In essence, she's the reason why they are all so unhinged but is also responsible for bringing them together as she was their common enemy for a long time.

5. There is another brother in the Mikaelson family that is not mentioned often.

According to theoriginalscw.tv Henrik was the brother who died during a werewolf attack. His death spurred Esther's need to make her family immortal and to give them the ability to fight the kind that murdered one of her own.

6. Danielle Campbell's character Davina is now more powerful that she has ever been before. She was always revered as a powerful young witch as a harvest girl.

However, there were times where weakness was show and after destroying her coven she lost a great deal of her power source.

Now, Davina has accepted the role as Regent for Vincent's coven in the French Quarter giving her access to all sorts of mystical powers.

7. Klaus is the master of all manipulators and no one can one up him.

During the entire season one and two Klaus has managed to stake his father after years of running, hold his mother who hunted him all season into a vampire while keeping her captive and now he managed to convince Dahlia to bring him back to life after being staked by Elijah.

He's managed to escape every situation by being one step ahead making him the master manipulator.

8. Klaus and Elijah are "The Originals" versions of Stefan and Damon.

Earlier this year there were Empty Lighthouse polls that were created comparing the four brothers and the relationship.

The bond of brotherhood between Stefan and Damon is strange because no matter how many times Damon displayed erratic behavior, Stefan always stood by him.

This brother dynamic is the same between Klaus who is the erratic brother and Elijah who is the voice of reason.

9. The crescent curse is the most dangerous one to werewolves.

Hayley has been forced to remain in her wolf form by Klaus in season two. Why's this important? Well this makes it incredibly difficult for her to be a human and take care of her daughter.

The crescent curse only allows werewolves to take human form during a full moon.

10.Hope is still alive and she has super powers. Hope is the daughter of Klaus and Hayley and while you would think she would be solely a hybrid, she also magic flowing through her because of her grandmother, Esther.
