Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier Video Game Releasing This Fall

A new video game will finally be released later this year for the Planet of the Apes franchise.

This new game is called Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier and it will be released this Fall 2017 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

The game is not going to be out for the Nintendo Switch from the looks of things.

Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier is being developed by Imaginati Studios from London and is being described as a cinematic adventure.

This means the game is choice-based similar to the likes of Telltale, Heavy Rain and Until Dawn. The developer went to Imaginarium Productions to do actual motion capture work.

The game is set between the events of both Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes. Players are able to play as both the apes and humans and there is no real heroes or villains.

Every choice you make determines all of the outcomes of the game. You can play through the game multiple times in order to unlock different endings. There is a lot of replay value on offer here.

All of the characters in this game are original, so you won't be seeing any familiar faces from the newer films. Depending on your actions, some characters can live or die.

A short trailer as well as the first gameplay footage has been released. The game uses the Unreal game engine so the graphics look really good.

It's great to get a Planet of the Apes video game after all these years. Previous games based on the franchise have been very shoddy.

The last games I've played were for the Game Boy Advance and PSOne and those were horrible. Hopefully this new game is better.
